Economical and eco-friendly driving techniques
The technique of economical and eco-friendly driving (Eco-driving)
Fuel is one of the main cost items for maintaining an official fleet, especially for long-distance freight and bus transportation. Reducing fuel consumption leads not only to cost savings, but also reduces the amount of harmful emissions into the atmosphere (carbon footprint).
You can achieve a reduction in fuel consumption by properly configuring the car, using it correctly, and driving with a cost-saving style.
The basis for mastering a safety-saving driving style is protective driving, since proper monitoring of the road and timely detection of hazards allows you to move with maximum smoothness. Therefore, the Eco-driving training is conducted after completing the Protective Driving course.
The following topics are also covered during the course:
- Factors affecting fuel consumption
- Vehicle settings – tire pressure, fuel system, additional equipment operation, awning tension, aerodynamic drag
- Energy-saving driving style, movement on ascents and descents, on turns
- Optimal gearshift technique
- Braking by service brake, engine, retarder
- Myths and misconceptions about fuel economy - rolling, warming up the engine
Training result
Participants can treat road risks reasonably, use the acquired knowledge and experience in daily driving, and independently work on improving their driving safety level.
